For 2008, we will have approximately 72,000 to 80,000 lights. We've lost count after 72,000 but we'll add them up and post the information here later for those who just have to know. We get asked this alot.
There is over a mile in extension chords and 160 amps of power running the display. My light bill does not go up as much as you would think because we try to use LED lights as much as we can afford and with the lights turning off and on they don't use as much electricity.
We have approximately 320 channels of computer animated lights. That basically means that 320 things can be changing at any given time. Whether the lights are fading, flashing, off or on is controlled by a computer program. Thanks to the people from Light-o-Rama we are able to do this using their software and products.
Clark programs all the lights using the software and it is a time intensive process.
The Mega-tree has approximately 18,880 lights, not counting the star. It's 16 feet high. The house alone has over 4,400 lights on it. The Arches and North Poles have 8,000 lights on them.
We love to light up the Christmas season and we hope our display can bring happiness to you at this time as we celebrate of the birth of our saviour, Jesus.
